Day 2
Today’s schedule got a little reworked, as there was a funeral being held at the church. We fed the children breakfast, and then most of us took them to a local park to play for a couple of hours. A few of us were privileged to attend Gadiel’s graduation ceremony (a local guy from the church here who graduated from high school). It was a really nice production and I am grateful to have attended.
When we returned, after some lunch, we headed back to the house building project. We continued to put up some walls and work on the electrical stuff. To describe the inside of the house as sweltering would be an understatement.
Before dinner, a few of us gathered and played some impromptu ‘worship’ music. Empty Gatorade containers and five gallon water cooler jugs became drums. Today was about humility, and I truly felt humbled to be a part of the graduation ceremony and building a house for someone.
